Message from the President
Welcome to the Web site of Phi Kappa Phi, Chapter 100, at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, founded in 1967. Phi Kappa Phi is the nation's oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society, founded in 1897. It is the only university-wide honor society at UNLV that promotes and recognizes academic excellence in all academic disciplines. Each year, Chapter 100 awards scholarships to the top Junior and Senior initiates and nominates one graduating senior for the national Phi Kappa Phi Fellowship competition.
Phi Kappa Phi has chapters on nearly 300 select college and university campuses. Membership is by invitation only to the top 10 percent of seniors and graduate students and 7.5 percent of juniors. Faculty, professional staff and alumni who have achieved scholarly distinction also qualify.
The upcoming year will be an exciting one for UNLV’s Phi Kappa Phi chapter as we mark the 50th anniversary of our chapter. We hope that our web and Facebook pages will be useful to members and prospective members. They will include notices of upcoming events, student activities, and lectures, as well as links to other sites of interest. Please feel free to contact any member of the Board of Directors for further information.
Dr. Andrew Hanson
Associate Dean UNLV Honors College and President of Phi Kappa Phi, 2016 - 2017
