Text Box: don't really understand it, but I still liked the professor.  I really lucked out in my major because all of my professors have been excellent.
Thomas L.: With the knowledge you've gained from your accounting classes, do you think they will be applicable towards your prospective career? If so, how?
Ashley M.: Absolutely: we may never do most of the things we are learning now, but this is the foundation.  We need all these classes to understand where everything comes from and how it all fits together.
Thomas L.: Will you be taking the CPA Exam? If yes, what would you suggest to other accounting students, who are unaware of the requirements, which would be of most concern in preparing for the exam?
Ashley M.: I will be taking the CPA exam, and I would recommend that everyone join Beta Alpha Psi.  I was completely clueless about the accounting requirements for both school and the real world, and Beta has done an excellent job of

Thomas L.: Why did you choose accounting as a major?
Ashley M.: Someone put it in my head when I was about 8 years old (since I was good at math), and when "Spy" and "Detective" didn't work out, I thought I'd give accounting a shot.  I took my first class and loved it.  Everything clicked; I knew this is where I belonged.

Text Box: walking me through it and preparing me for my career.
Thomas L.: From your perspective, why do you think the current demand for a masters been so great as opposed to previous times?
Ashley M.:  "Everyone is doing it."  Before, few people could afford to stay on for their masters, and families were beginning earlier (so the parents needed to start bringing in an income), so people did what they could to begin their careers.  Now, we have people waiting longer to start a family, and (for Vegas students) the millennium scholarship to help us out.  More and more people have obtained their masters, which has raised the bar for the rest of us.  We now realize that a masters will give us more options with our career, which I think is a general trait for our generation.
