Springs Preserve Booth

We are co-hosting a booth at the Springs Preserve on May 17^th from 10-2 for the Southern Nevada Cultural History Fair.

Any volunteers are welcome to assist at the booth anytime on Saturday the 17^th. Set up must be completed by 930 am and take down will occur after 2pm.

SUMMER ARCHAEOLOGY JOBS

Kaibab National Forest

The North Kaibab Ranger District is hiring seasonal archaeological

technicians for the summer of 2008. 1-2 Crew Member Positions at the GS-5

level ($14.24/hr) are available. Successful applicants will work as part

of a larger field crew. Work will include archeological survey and site

recording for several Forest Service projects. Government housing is

available at Jacob Lake, Arizona.

The North Kaibab is situated on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and is

located within driving distance of many outstanding National Parks and

Monuments. Archaeological sites span the Paleoindian through the historic

period and include extensive Puebloan architecture and ceramics.

The website is pretty much complete besides the logo that we will use from the logo competition. Feel free to get on the site at http://anthropologysocietyatunlv.shirtcity.com; Tell your friends and neighbors about it, too! There are 34 items to choose from in 6 different categories. Each item is almost completely re-modifiable! You have your choice of what color, design, size, and text is on your item on the front and/or back. There are many colors, 64 pages of design options and a few dozen text fonts to choose from. The item designs displayed on the site are merely an example of what you can do with each item!
